#ONDODECIDES2024: TRADING BOOMS AT ONDO JETTY AMID ELECTION ACTIVITIES (PICTURES)
On Saturday morning, Ondo State’s election day, residents of Ugbonla in the Ilaje Local Government Area transformed the busy jetty into a trading center.
Traders took advantage of the chance to do brisk business as prospective voters boarded boats and canoes on their way to respective towns and polling places.
Voters traveling from the uplands to the riverine regions depend on the jetty as a transit hub, and it was bustling with activity.
A trader simply identified as Bose said, “People are passing through here this morning and after the election. So we can trade before we go to cast our votes and return after the election.
“The governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the Commissioner for Health, Dr Banji Ajaka; former governorship candidate, Chief Olusola Oke; and many notable politicians pass through here to their communities and polling units.”
