OKPEBHOLO DISSOLVES EDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Local Government Service Commission as part of ongoing reforms to enhance transparency and efficiency in the public service.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor explained that the decision aligned with broader efforts to streamline government operations and improve the performance of public sector institutions in the state.
Okpebholo assured the public that the dissolution would not disrupt ongoing official activities.
He expressed his commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to restructure the commission for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
“The decision to dissolve the state Local Government Service Commission became necessary to revitalise the institution and reposition it for more efficient service delivery,” the governor stated. “This move aims to eliminate inefficiency and establish a more accountable and effective local government service structure.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transparent and effective governance, emphasising that the reforms were geared towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State.
