KATSINA STATE ASSEMBLY APPROVES N692.2 BILLION 2025 BUDGET
The Katsina State House of Assembly has approved an appropriation bill of N692.244 billion for the 2025 fiscal year. The bill was passed during a plenary session on Tuesday, presided over by Speaker Alhaji Nasir Yahaya-Daura.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda had presented a budget of over N682.2 billion to the Assembly on November 25, 2024. However, during the budget defense, the appropriation committee identified a N10 billion omission, leading to the increase in the final approved amount.
The speaker confirmed that the budget, titled “Building the Future II” by Governor Radda, underwent thorough deliberation before being unanimously approved by the lawmakers.
Additionally, during the plenary session, the Assembly scheduled the screening of Alhaji Malik Anas and Alhaji Abdullahi Gagare for the positions of Commissioner and Chairman of the State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, respectively. The screening will take place on Wednesday, November 18th.
