The Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Hon. Cecilia Bolaji Dada, in a heartfelt Christmas message has commended the resilience and dedication of women across the state.
This was contained in a statement personally signed by Hon. Dada on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
She also reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to empowering women through various initiatives under the WAPA umbrella, while also upholding women’s rights.
The statement reads, “At this joyous season of Christmas, i on behalf of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to all women across Lagos State.
“This festive period is a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity. Women remain the backbone of families, communities, and the state at large.
“Your hard work, compassion, and commitment to excellence inspire us all, and I deeply appreciate your resilience and contributions to the growth and development of our society.
“In line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda, the Lagos State Government is committed to eradicating poverty and empowering women across the state.
“Through targeted initiatives such as skill acquisition programs, financial assistance, and other empowerment schemes.
“We are equipping women with the resources to achieve economic independence and contribute meaningfully to the prosperity of Lagos.
“Furthermore, the government remains resolute in safeguarding the rights of women.
“We continue to strengthen policies and enforcement mechanisms to create a safe environment where every woman can thrive without fear of discrimination, violence, or marginalization.
“As we celebrate this season, let us also show kindness to one another, especially to those who are less privileged.
“Together, we can build a more inclusive and prosperous Lagos where every woman’s potential is fully realized.
