POLICE BOOST TO SECURITY FOR 2026 UTME IN DELTA

Delta State Police have set up a detailed and smart security plan for the 2026 computer–based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The exam will take place from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026. Police officers are placed at all 31 approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in the state to make sure the exam runs smoothly and without any problems. This plan is being carried out by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
This information was shared in a statement signed by Bright Edafe, the police public relations officer for Delta State Command.
The statement was given to journalists in Warri on Wednesday.
The statement said that the State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, has told all Area Commanders who are in charge of areas where CBT centers are located to take full responsibility for the security at those centers.
According to the statement, the Area Commanders are to make sure that all personnel are closely watched, police presence is constant, there is a quick response if needed, and they work closely with other police officers and exam officials.
They are especially focused on gathering information and protecting the computer systems and networks to stop anyone from trying to cheat or mess with the exam.
The command reiterated that examination malpractice, impersonation, or any form of disorderly conduct will not be tolerated, and offenders will be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law, while candidates are advised to comply with all guidelines, conduct themselves responsibly, and arrive early at their centres.
The commissioner of police reassured residents of the command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, and called on members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible and timely information.
