President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed into law a bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC). The bill, which seeks to foster development in the North-Central region, is now official following the president’s assent.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement on Tuesday during a session in the Senate chamber. Akpabio took the opportunity to inform the lawmakers and the public about the successful passage of the bill.

Expressing his optimism, Akpabio stated that the creation of the NCDC would serve as a catalyst for driving development to the grassroots level. He emphasized that the commission would play a vital role in improving infrastructure and promoting economic growth in the region.

He said: “Let me also inform my colleagues that Mr President has also assented to the North-Central Development Commission establishment bill 2024, to bring development to the grassroots.
