NIGERIAN NAVY SEIZES TWO WOODEN BOATS, MULTIPLE DRUMS OF ILLEGALLY REFINED AGO

The Nigerian Navy reported that personnel from Operation DELTA SANITY at Forward Operating Base FORMOSO seized two wooden boats carrying a large quantity of stolen crude oil hidden among shrubs and palm leaves in Bilibiri, Ekeremor LGA, Bayelsa State.

The announcement was made in a Facebook post.

It said, “On Wednesday 26 February, 2025, Forward Operating Base LEKKI discovered and impounded several drums containing illegally refined AGO at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State.

“On Wednesday 26 February, 2025, Forward Operating Base FORMOSO discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site with 3 refining ovens, 3 receiving units and 3 dug out pits laden with an unspecified amount of stolen crude oil at Clough creek, Ekeremo LGA, Bayelsa State.

“On Tuesday 25 February, 2025, Forward Operating Base ESCRAVOS discovered and deactivated 4 refining sites with 4 refining ovens, 9 dug out pits, and numerous sacks of illegally refined AGO and stolen crude oil in Obodo Omadino, Warri LGA, Delta State.”
