FILLING STATION SUPERVISOR CHARGED OVER ALLEGED N1.25M THEFT
Prosper Ese, a 22-year-old petrol station supervisor, was charged with two counts of stealing and fraud and entered a not guilty plea to the charges after being arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for allegedly stealing N1,256,400 from his employer.
The prosecution, ASP Edet Ekpo, claims that the alleged offenses took place at the Arigbabuwo Petrol Filling Station in Oko-Afo, Badagry, on March 2.
Ese allegedly collected N200,000 from a woman named Aisat Folorunsho under false pretenses and took N1,056,400 from sales remittances.
While trying to escape the station, he was apprehended.
According to the prosecution, the offenses violate Sections 287 and 311 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws.
The case was postponed to April 16 for mention after Chief Magistrate N.A. Layeni granted the defendant bail of N1 million with two sureties in an equivalent amount.
