KIZZ DANIEL REGAINS MASTERS TO ‘NEW ERA’ ALBUM, EARLY HITS AFTER YEARS OF LEGAL BATTLE

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has successfully reclaimed the master rights to his debut album, New Era, as well as his early hit singles, “Yeba” and “Sofa,” from his former record label, G-Worldwide Entertainment.
The singer announced the milestone on Monday via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, describing the moment as deeply emotional and symbolic of his journey through the music industry.
“From long nights in the studio to several meditations, finally, I now own every song on the New Era album (2016) + Yeba & Sofa (singles). I got my masters back. This means more than words can explain. Thank you for riding with me. #NewEra #MyCatalog #Grateful,” Kizz Daniel wrote.
Released on May 14, 2016, under G-Worldwide, New Era launched Kizz Daniel into the spotlight with hits like “Woju,” “Laye,” and “Mama,” cementing his place as a force in the Nigerian and African music scene.
Kizz Daniel’s relationship with G-Worldwide soured in 2017, leading to a public contractual dispute and protracted legal battles. Amid the fallout, the singer changed his stage name from Kiss Daniel to Kizz Daniel and established his own label, Flyboy I.N.C.
In a surprising turn of events in 2023, Kizz Daniel named G-Worldwide founder, Emperor Geezy, as the new Chief Executive Officer of Flyboy I.N.C.—a move many saw as a symbol of reconciliation between the former adversaries.
The recovery of his masters has been celebrated by fans and industry observers as a major win for artist rights in Nigeria, where issues of creative ownership and label disputes remain prevalent.
