President Bola Tinubu will on Tuesday honour exceptional young Nigerians as 210 outstanding corps members are set to receive the prestigious President’s NYSC Honours Award for their exemplary service between 2020 and 2023.

The highly anticipated event aims to celebrate the dedication and impactful contributions of Nigerian youth under the National Youth Service Corps scheme.

The Director of Media, NYSC, Mr. Emeka Mgbemena, announced the development in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday.

According to him, the award ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11am on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.

Mgbemena revealed that 200 ex-corps members were selected for excelling “meritoriously in all four cardinal programmes of the NYSC.”

The four key areas, he noted, include: “Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding-Up/Passing-Out” during the 2020 to 2023 service years.

“Others that will also be honoured by the president under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative are 10 ex-corps members that suffered various degrees of permanent disabilities while serving their fatherland,” he said.

He said the Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu and NYSC Management were looking forward to welcoming the award beneficiaries and guests to the event.
