COMMITTEE UNVEILS WEEK-LONG PROGRAMME FOR INSTALLATION OF 44TH OLUBADAN, OBA RASHIDI LADOJA

In preparation for the installation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the committee for the coronation ceremony has held its inaugural meeting.
The session was chaired by Chief Bayo Oyero, a former National President of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), with the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Demola Ojo, also in attendance.
Discussions focused on the September 26th coronation.
A week-long programme of events was agreed upon.
According to a statement by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, activities will begin on Monday, September 22, with an interdenominational service at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, organized by CCII.
This will be followed by a Cultural Day on Tuesday, jointly promoted by the CCII and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. A Coronation Lecture to be delivered by Prof. Toyin Falola is also part of the lineup.
On Thursday, a Mega Praise Worship will be held at the Civic Centre, Idi Ape, while the official coronation ceremony is scheduled for Friday at Mapo Hall.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Olubadan, including the Asipa Olubadan-designate, Oba Hamidu Ajibade, Chief Nureni Adisa, and Chief Adeola Oloko, Media Aide to the Olubadan.
It will be recalled that following Oba Ladoja’s nomination by the Olubadan-in-Council, Governor Seyi Makinde approved the appointment.
