Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has deactivated her Instagram account following the tragic death of her younger sister, Ruth Otabor.
Checks on Tuesday showed that the reality star’s verified handle was no longer accessible, sparking concern among fans and fellow celebrities.
The Otabor family had earlier confirmed Ruth’s passing in a statement released on Sunday by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, disclosing that she died around 6:30 a.m.
Ruth was involved in a fatal accident on August 13 near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, when a truck linked to the Dangote Group reportedly ran over her. The impact left her with severe leg injuries, leading to an amputation.
Eyewitnesses said a bystander intervened to stop the truck after the crash.
The incident occurred barely six days after Ruth had graduated from Auchi Polytechnic, deepening the grief of the Otabor family and drawing widespread sympathy from Phyna’s supporters and the public.
