The Chairman of the Otukpo Local Government Council, Maxwell Ogiri, who verified the incident, stated that security forces have been deployed to investigate and ensure that the offenders are held accountable.

“The gruesome murder of Ejeh has cast a dark shadow in our community because he was a well-known figure, a community leader, and a chieftain of the APC in Otukpo LGA,” Ogiri remarked.

He emphasized that the timing of the assault, which coincided with heavy rainfall around 11 p.m., hindered residents’ ability to react promptly.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, indicated that she had not yet received complete information regarding the incident.
