Chief Edwin Jeffrey Agbim, Founder and Managing Director of Jedmoon Impex Limited, has asserted that Nigeria’s independence will remain unfulfilled until accessible and secure housing is assured for its citizens.

Agbim, addressing the nation during its 65th Independence anniversary on October 1, emphasized that genuine sovereignty must manifest in the everyday experiences of Nigerians, beginning with the provision of adequate homes.

“The true essence of independence is more than merely raising a flag or reflecting on our history. It involves guaranteeing that every Nigerian has access to secure, dignified, and affordable housing. Shelter is a fundamental human requirement, and until this need is met, independence cannot be deemed complete,” he remarked.

Founded in 2007, Jedmoon Impex was established to address Nigeria’s housing shortfall, which experts estimate to be in the tens of millions of units. Operating from its headquarters in Lekki, Lagos, the company has successfully delivered numerous housing projects throughout the state.

Agbim articulated that the firm’s operations are driven by a vision that prioritizes societal impact over profitability.

“Our mission is to develop a varied portfolio of quality, durable, and affordable real estate that adds value to both customers and investors, while also enabling our employees to reach their full potential. This is how the private sector participates in nation-building,” he stated.

“Housing is more than just a shelter; it represents wealth creation, familial stability, and a catalyst for national progress. A nation that fails to provide housing endangers itself with insecurity, inequality, and social unrest. For me, the most commendable way to commemorate independence is to construct homes that afford our citizens dignity and security. ”

Jedmoon employs a comprehensive development model that encompasses planning, construction, and delivery, which, according to Agbim, guarantees rigorous quality assurance and safeguards homebuyers from dissatisfaction.

Despite the increasing costs of materials and economic instability, the company has maintained its reputation for producing durable and luxurious homes.

The estates are designed as fully functional communities featuring water treatment facilities, industrial boreholes, paved roadways, drainage systems, street lighting, 24-hour surveillance, and CCTV installations.

Properties also boast en-suite bedrooms, equipped kitchens, wardrobes, Turkish security doors, video doorbells, and recreational amenities such as swimming pools, playgrounds, and clubhouses.

Since its inception, Jedmoon has finalized significant projects including Spring Gardens I–III, Jedmoon Garden Phases I–III, and Jedmoon Court I–VII.

Agbim emphasized that housing must be recognized as pivotal to both economic and social stability.
