ARMY KILLS SCORES OF TERRORISTS, APPREHENDS 25 SUSPECTS, RESCUES 16 HOSTAGES

Personnel of the Nigerian Army have eliminated numerous terrorists, apprehended 25 individuals suspected of criminal activity, and rescued 16 victims of abduction during a series of synchronized operations across various theaters of engagement.
A reliable source at Army Headquarters informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that these missions also resulted in the recovery of firearms, explosives, munitions, petroleum products, motorcycles, and a range of illegal narcotics.
In the North East, the source reported that the troops delivered significant setbacks to ISWAP/JAS factions in the Kolori and Karumi communities situated within the Konduga Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno and the Madagali LGA of Adamawa.
As per the source, a prominent logistics supplier was apprehended in Mafa LGA with 23 cans of gasoline concealed within a bag.
“In Mubi North, soldiers foiled the smuggling of petrol and fertilizers, while in Garkida, a suspected terrorist confessed to involvement in previous attacks in Damboa.
“Recovered items included one M70AB2 rifle, four magazines and 150 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition,” he noted.
In the North West, the military source indicated that the forces of 1 Brigade repelled several attempts by terrorists in the Maradun, Tsafe, and Anka LGAs of Zamfara.
He further disclosed that six abducted individuals were rescued and multiple motorcycles were seized.
According to him, a notorious kidnapping ring leader was apprehended in Mayir Village of Sanga LGA in Kaduna State, following actionable intelligence.
In the North Central region, the source stated that troops involved in Operation Whirl Stroke neutralized a violent extremist in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue, simultaneously rescuing 10 abducted travelers along the Kyado–Wukari route.

In Kwara, it was reported that soldiers liberated three kidnap victims near Eruku town, recovering a motorcycle in the process.
He mentioned that troops intercepted a vehicle transporting illegal drugs and detained two suspects, including the recipient in Nasarawa State.
In the South East, it was reported that the troops apprehended two cult members at Mgbidi in Imo, seizing a pistol, mobile phones, and a motorcycle.
He stated that soldiers disrupted IPOB/ESN operations in Orumba North LGA of Anambra, where the assailants fled after detonating three improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
In the South South region, the source noted that security forces recovered two locally manufactured double-barreled shotguns and 27 cartridges.
“In joint operations with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), troops arrested 19 drug dealers in Delta and Bayelsa states, recovering cannabis, tramadol, pentazocine, diazepam and Canadian loud.
“Additionally, in Rivers and Bayelsa, troops seized over 1,200 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and crude oil, while four suspected kidnappers were arrested in Oshimili North LGA of Delta.
“Across the operations, troops recovered an M70AB2 rifle, four magazines, 150 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, two double-barrel guns, 27 cartridges, one pistol, several motorcycles, large consignments of petrol and fertilizers, IEDs, mobile phones and assorted illicit drugs,” he stated.
The source reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian army to maintaining pressure on terrorists, kidnappers, and criminal organizations nationwide.
As per his assertion, individuals who jeopardize the tranquility and safety of the nation will encounter severe repercussions, whereas communities will persist in receiving safeguards to facilitate agriculture, economic revitalization, and the Federal Government’s objective of food security.
