Ghana’s resounding 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic on Wednesday marked a significant step toward guaranteeing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With one game left in Group I, the Black Stars are three points ahead of their closest opponents thanks to the decisive victory.

Ghana established their dominance early on in the game, which took place at the Stade d’Honneur in Morocco. They showed total control over the entire field as they destroyed a mediocre CAR team.

In the 20th minute, Mohammed Salisu broke the tie with a powerful header off a corner from Mohammed Kudus.
Thomas Partey’s calm finish just after the interval increased the score to 2-0. Alexander Djiku headed in Ghana’s third a few minutes later.
Jordan Ayew then scored a fantastic goal, and Kamaldeen Sulemana’s first senior international goal in the 87th minute completed the decisive win.

With just one game left and a significantly better goal differential, Ghana is now three points ahead of Madagascar in Group I after their decisive victory.
Their spot at the 2026 World Cup will be guaranteed if they draw their final match.

The team led by coach Otto Addo displayed merciless finishing, quick movement, and tactical discipline. In the meantime, CAR provided little resistance and found it difficult to stop Ghana’s waves of attack.

Ghana will conclude their qualifying campaign by playing Comoros at home in Accra. The Black Stars are set to make a comeback to football’s biggest stage if they continue to play well.
