WORLD CUP IN NIGERIA (See Pictures)
The World Cup arrived in Abuja on Wedneday as part of its tour of nations that will be represented in Russia ahead of the World Cup. The cup which arrived aboard a Coca-Cola branded plane was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Minister of Sports Solomon Dalong , the Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick and top officials of both the sports ministry and the NFF.
The Cup was later unveiled to media and sports personalities at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. FIFA representatives who accompanied the cup described Nigeria as a football nation that is globally recognized the reason the cup will be taken to two cities in Nigeria ( Abuja and Lagos).
Nigeria was praised for being a force to reckon with in soccer and one of the hope of Africa in the World Cup tournament in Russia.
NFF president Ammaju Pinnick expressed delight with the arrival of the cup in Nigeria and appreciated FIFA for given Nigeria opportunity to unveil the cup in Abuja and Lagos unlike other countries in which the cup was unveiled only in one city.
The cup was later taken to the presidential villa where it will be unveiled to President Muhammad Buhari.
