Finance Minister, Wale Edun, was seen in videos in the United Kingdom, attending an Arts gallery exhibition.
Reports had earlier emerged that Edun travelled to the United Kingdom to seek medical treatment, multiple government sources had insisted on Tuesday.

According to sources, Edun left Abuja for Lagos on Monday night aboard a commercial flight before departing for later that night on a British Airways flight.
A Presidency official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the decision to seek treatment abroad was made after local doctors recommended further medical evaluation overseas.“It’s true, he has left already,” the source confirmed on Tuesday morning.
Until his departure, officials had maintained that the minister was recuperating at his Abuja residence under the supervision of Nigerian doctors. They, however, dismissed rumours that he had suffered a stroke or become incapacitated.
“Yes, he’s indisposed. He’s sick, which is a bit serious, but it’s not a stroke. As I’m talking to you, he’s in his house. He’s not been flown anywhere,” a senior official had said.
Another aide familiar with the matter noted that the President was closely monitoring Edun’s condition but ruled out any plans to replace him.
The aide had earlier confirmed that Edun, aged 69, had fallen ill but was initially being treated in Nigeria.
“Yes, he’s indisposed. Wale Edun suddenly fell ill. As we are talking, he is in Nigeria. He is recuperating. He’s around,” Onanuga said on Sunday.
The Presidency had also clarified that Edun would miss the 2025 and (IMF) Annual Meetings in , which commenced on Tuesday, October 14. In his stead, the Governor, will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the global finance summit.
Appointed on August 28, 2023, Edun has played a central role in President ’s economic reform agenda, which includes the removal of fuel subsidies, foreign exchange unification, and fiscal stabilisation policies aimed at strengthening the naira and curbing inflation.
