EKSU SEEKS PARTNERSHIPS TO ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION
Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has announced plans to deepen its focus on technology-driven education through strategic partnerships with global and local development partners.
The initiative follows the university’s shortlisting by the National Universities Commission (NUC) as one of the institutions to host a Digital and Creative Enterprise (iDICE) Hub. The national programme, supported by the Federal Government in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), aims to strengthen digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity among Nigerian youths.
EKSU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Babatola Ayodele, described the development as a major step toward positioning the university as a centre for technological advancement and innovation in the country.
“Being shortlisted for the iDICE hub underscores our readiness to drive digital transformation and equip our students with globally relevant skills,” Ayodele said.

As part of the move, the university is also partnering with Professors Without Borders, a UK-based non-governmental organisation, to run intensive training programmes focused on entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence (AI), leadership, and innovation. The sessions are scheduled to hold from July 28 to August 1, 2025.
The initiative aims to produce industry-ready graduates with strong digital literacy and problem-solving skills, aligning EKSU’s curriculum with emerging global standards.
Stakeholders say the partnership will help bridge existing gaps in infrastructure, technology, and digital education within the state, ultimately contributing to Nigeria’s growing participation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The university has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining collaborations that promote innovation, digital inclusion, and youth empowerment across Nigeria.
