President Bola Tinubu on Thursday administered the oath of office to Dr. Bernard Doro and Dr. Kingsley Udeh as ministers, officially integrating them into the Federal Executive Council.
The event occurred at 1:52 p.m. within the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja, just moments prior to the initiation of the FEC meeting, the first convened since July 2025.
Thursday’s ceremony reinstates cabinet representation for Plateau and Enugu states, both of which had lacked ministerial representation in recent weeks.
Doro, a clinically trained professional from the UK and an experienced administrator in the pharmaceutical and public health sectors, was appointed by Tinubu on October 21 to succeed Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who departed from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction after being elected as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress on July 31, 2025.
Doro, originating from Kwall in the Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, possesses over twenty years of cumulative experience in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and technology–oriented health strategy.
As reported by the Presidency, he has attained several degrees, including those in Pharmacy, Law, and Advanced Clinical Practice, and has had a significant tenure within the United Kingdom’s National Health Service.

In the meantime, Udeh, who served as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State prior to his nomination, succeeds Uche Nnaji, the previous Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, who stepped down on October 7, 2025, amid disputes concerning his academic credentials from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Udeh, recently awarded the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was appointed by the President on November 4 and subsequently validated by the Senate shortly thereafter.
Their inauguration increases Tinubu’s cabinet composition to 48 ministers.
Subsequent to the concise ceremony, Tinubu chaired the Federal Executive Council meeting, the first since July 31.
Prior to the meeting entering a private session, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, informed the council that Nigeria’s re-entry into the international capital market has garnered significant investor confidence, with the 2.35 billion dollar Eurobond being oversubscribed by 453 percent, attracting 13 billion dollars in orders.
“The forthcoming phase of reforms will eliminate obstacles hindering investors. We will assess tariffs and import limitations to enhance productivity and investment,” he remarked.
Tinubu endorsed the result, observing that despite political challenges, Nigeria persists in collaborating with international allies, enhancing its diplomatic relationships, and restoring confidence in its economy.
He stated that the objective moving forward is to eradicate terrorism and achieve a tranquil, inclusive, and flourishing Nigeria.
