The Imo State Police Command has intensified its offensive against kidnapping and violent crimes along the Owerri–Aba Expressway, following a major operation that uncovered decomposed and mutilated bodies in a suspected kidnappers’ den.

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, led a high-powered team to Umuhu Autonomous Community in Ngor-Okpala after credible intelligence linked a wanted suspect, Stanley Morocco Oparaugo, to criminal activities in the area.

The delegation included the Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu; Chief Pathologist of Imo State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ibeaja Okechukwu; members of the Ngor Okpala Vigilante Group led by Mr. Henry Ikpe; and the Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Mrs. Chika Ibekwe.

During the operation, officers inspected a hotel and a private mortuary reportedly owned by Oparaugo and allegedly used by kidnappers and violent criminals. At the mortuary, security operatives discovered decomposed and mutilated corpses kept in extremely unhygienic conditions, heightening suspicions of illegal organ harvesting.

Both facilities were immediately sealed off on the directive of the Imo State Government. A search was also conducted at the suspect’s residence, where key exhibits were recovered.

Forensic experts documented and secured evidence as part of ongoing investigations. CP Danjuma reassured the public that everyone connected to the criminal network would be tracked down and prosecuted.

The police have declared Stanley Morocco Oparaugo WANTED and urged residents with relevant information to contact the nearest police station or call 0803 477 3600.

Security has been reinforced along the Owerri–Aba Expressway, with the Command assuring travelers of their safety during the holiday season.
