PRESIDENT TINUBU DEPARTS NIGERIA FOR TÜRKIYE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday departed Abuja for a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, aimed at deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two nations.
The trip was confirmed in a post on X by the President’s Special Adviser on Social Media, Dada Olusegun. According to Olusegun, the visit is designed to strengthen ties and explore collaboration in key sectors including security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departs Abuja today for a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye. The visit is aimed at strengthening the existing cordial relations between the two countries and exploring further areas of cooperation in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation,” Olusegun wrote.
A video attached to the post showed the President at the airport ahead of departure, accompanied by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma; and other top government officials.
Tinubu’s planned departure for the state visit. The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also confirmed the trip in a statement on Sunday titled, “President Tinubu to undertake state visit to Türkiye.”
Onanuga noted that the visit seeks to strengthen the cordial relations between Nigeria and Türkiye and to explore additional areas of cooperation across security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation. He added that the trip reciprocates Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s state visit to Nigeria in October 2021.
During the visit, Nigeria and Türkiye are expected to hold strategic political and diplomatic engagements, focusing on shared interests in finance, communication, trade, and investment.
