US MISSION IN NIGERIA LAUNCHES FREE ONLINE ENGLISH COURSES TO BOOST PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

The United States Mission in Nigeria has announced the launch of free online English-language courses aimed at enhancing professional skills and expanding career opportunities for learners across the country.

The announcement was made on Thursday via the mission’s official X handle. The courses are part of the U.S. Department of State’s Online Professional English Network (OPEN) programme and are designed to support learners’ professional growth, allowing participants to study at their own pace while engaging with a global community of learners.

Enrollment for the current cycle opened on January 5, 2026, and will remain open until March 23, 2026, with courses running from January 5 to March 30, 2026.

The available courses include:

English for Business and Entrepreneurship, Focused on developing business vocabulary and effective communication skills.

English for Tourism Professionals, Tailored for individuals working in travel, tourism, and hospitality.

English for Career Development, Designed to help learners write strong resumes, apply for jobs, and perform confidently in interviews.

The U.S. Mission encouraged interested participants to enroll through its online learning platform, emphasizing the programme’s role in equipping learners with skills relevant to high-demand professional fields.
