The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Gafaru Rasaki, for allegedly exhuming human remains from a cemetery in the Sagamu area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday in Abeokuta.

According to Babaseyi, operatives of the Shakura Police Division in Sagamu apprehended the suspect on January 21, 2026, after he was found in possession of four human heads.

“On the 21st of January, 2026, operatives of the Shakura Division arrested one Gafaru Rasaki in possession of four human heads,” the statement read.

He explained that upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was discovered that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery.

“This act amounts to a gross disregard for corpses and constitutes a serious violation of the law,” Babaseyi stated.

The police spokesperson said the recovered exhibits had been secured, adding that the suspect had been charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.
