2027: EFFORTS TO BLOCK TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION ALREADY ‘DEAD ON ARRIVAL,’ SAYS PCC OFFICIAL

Morakinyo Akinleye, a Federal Commissioner with the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), has labeled any coalition opposing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid as “dead on arrival.”
Akinleye also commended Ogun West Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, describing him as a selfless politician committed to transformative leadership. He noted that Adeola is the best gubernatorial candidate the senatorial district could present for the 2027 elections.
The PCC commissioner made the remarks on Sunday while speaking with journalists at a grassroots mobilisation rally organized by the socio-political group Assurance Grassroots Support for Yayi and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area.
Akinleye said the government of Tinubu is leaving nothing to chance and has taken bold steps to revamp the economy and put the nation on a path to prosperity.
He explained, “Opposition against President Tinubu’s second term is dead on arrival. The economy is coming out of its comatose state, and things are looking up brightly for the country. Even the international community is acknowledging the progress of the Tinubu administration.
“The coalition may gather, but they will surely fall because President Tinubu is laying a solid foundation for the nation’s growth and economic prosperity. We are here in Ayetoro to say that President Tinubu deserves support for another term in 2027.”
Akinleye added that the rally also aimed to garner support for the senatorial district’s ambition to break a 50-year-old jinx and produce a governor in 2027.
“Fifty years after the creation of Ogun State, without the West senatorial district occupying the governorship seat is worrisome. But with purposeful grassroots mobilisation like this, we believe we shall succeed in 2027.
“We are doing things differently this time. Senator Solomon Adeola is ready to lead us to that place of glory. The majority are behind him because of his unprecedented leadership and commitment to serving humanity across the state. He is the best man for the job and should be supported by all,” he added.
The Convener of the programme, Yinka Alade, said the rally provided a platform to engage grassroots residents and secure support for both Tinubu’s re-election bid and Senator Adeola’s gubernatorial ambition.
“Ogun West senatorial district has been denied the governorship for fifty years. Now God has given us Sen Adeola Yayi, a competent leader whose acceptance cuts across the three senatorial districts. We urge the people to support him to become our next governor.
“The senator’s achievements span road construction, schools, hospitals, empowerment, and interventions that have improved governance and living standards in the district. We are here to urge support for Sen Adeola to take over from our hardworking governor, Dapo Abiodun, in 2027,” Alade said.
Jamiu Ogundele described Tinubu as a leader with the capacity to restore the country’s greatness and deserving of a second term.
“President Tinubu has made bold decisions that many avoided for years. The nation is witnessing rapid recovery, the forex market is stabilizing, and commodity prices are easing. APC’s effective governance is even drawing support from governors in opposition parties. Despite resistance, President Tinubu is set to return in 2027 to complete his agenda,” Ogundele stated.
He also praised Solomon Adeola as a competent political leader, recommending him as the consensus gubernatorial candidate for the APC.
Legislative aide to the Deputy Senate President, Mr. Oyede Adeniyi, called for backing both Tinubu’s re-election and Adeola’s governorship campaign.
“Yayi is a progressive leader with competence and a proven record. President Tinubu has demonstrated good governance, delivered significant infrastructure projects, and implemented initiatives like NELFUND. His purposeful leadership deserves another term,” Adeniyi said.
