RAPHINHA HITS OUT AT REFEREEING AFTER BARCELONA’S DEFEAT TO GIRONA

Barcelona winger Raphinha has criticised what he described as refereeing double standards in La Liga following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Girona FC.
The Catalan club were angered after Girona’s late derby winner on Monday was allowed to stand, despite Barcelona’s belief that a foul had been committed on defender Jules Kounde in the build-up.
The loss leaves FC Barcelona second in the standings, two points behind rivals Real Madrid CF.
Barcelona had earlier issued a statement complaining about inconsistencies in officiating, following a controversially disallowed goal in their 4-0 Copa del Rey defeat to Atletico Madrid last week.
Reacting on Instagram, Raphinha wrote: “We have a lot to improve, but not just us. It’s very difficult when the rules are different if they are for you or against you, but if we have to play against everyone to win, then fine, we will do it.”
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick also criticised the standard of officiating after the match at Montilivi, suggesting the referees’ performance matched his team’s below-par display.
“The officials do their job, sometimes it’s not a good job, but they are on the same level as we played, so it’s maybe not a good level,” Flick said.
