NELFUND RELEASES ₦31.3 MILLION STUDENT LOANS TO KANO UNIVERSITY

The Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya has received ₦31,335,500.00 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as an institutional fees loan.

According to NELFUND on Wednesday, the funds will cover “479 students under the first batch of the 2025/2026 academic session.”

The college confirmed the receipt of the funds in a statement, noting that the disbursement was made on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

In an acknowledgment letter signed by the Acting Director of ICT, Nyalla Gajere, the institution stated it had received “the sum of Thirty-One Million Three Hundred and Thirty-Five Thousand Five Hundred Naira Only (₦31,335,500.00), being Institutional Fees Loan, for four hundred and seventy-nine (479) students under our first batch of the 2025/2026 academic session.”

The letter, issued on behalf of the college’s management, staff, and students, expressed gratitude to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, as well as the agency’s staff, for their “tireless effort toward the achievement of the success recorded so far.”

It also extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his “humanitarian and innovative initiatives,” while praying for the continued sustainability of the programme.

The disbursement forms part of the institutional fees loan scheme for eligible students in the current academic session.

Recently, NELFUND announced the disbursement of ₦392,876,550 in student loans to Delta State University, Abraka. The funding is set to support 1,854 students, offering crucial financial assistance to ease their challenges and enable them to concentrate fully on their academic studies.
