TRAGEDY AS NSCDC OFFICER DIES DURING PALLIATIVES DISTRIBUTION IN KANO

An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) died on Friday while distributing Ramadan and Sallah palliatives in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.
The distribution was organized by Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Confirming the incident on Saturday, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Kano, stated that the command has launched a thorough investigation into the death.
“Yes, it is true. The commandant has consequently ordered a detailed investigation into the matter. Once concluded, we will issue a press statement with full details of the incident,” Abdullahi told the media in a telephone interview.
Moreover, the lawmaker Doguwa alleged that hoodlums attempted to disrupt the distribution exercise, leading to the death of the officer.

“I was informed that some hoodlums attempted to cause disorder during the distribution, an incident that resulted in the death of a security officer of the Civil Defence Corps,” he said.
The lawmaker expressed shock over the development and condoled with the NSCDC, the family of the deceased, and the people of Tudun Wada.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the NSCDC, the family of the deceased, and the people of Tudun Wada Local Government Area. May Allah have mercy on him and forgive his sins,” he added.
Doguwa urged security agencies to investigate the incident and hold those responsible accountable, while also calling on the public to refrain from circulating false claims connecting him to the tragedy.
