Tonto Dikeh, a Nollywood actress, has been dragged before a High Court in Abuja over allegations of conducting a deliverance session on a schoolgirl within school premises.
The actress is facing a N200 million lawsuit filed by human rights lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi on behalf of a Junior Secondary School (JSS1) student from Rivers State.
According to the lawyer, the teenager was allegedly subjected to what he described as a harmful religious ritual, which was recorded and later circulated online.

Obasi further argued that sharing the video without the girl’s consent violated her right to privacy, citing Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as provisions of the Child Rights Act 2003.
The suit is seeking N200 million in damages, a public apology, and the removal of the video from all social media platforms. The lawyer also asked the court to declare the act a violation of the girl’s constitutional rights to dignity and personal privacy.
The media recalls that a few days ago, Dikeh posted a video online showing her performing a spiritual deliverance on a schoolgirl during a visit to a secondary school in Durumi II, Abuja.
