Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to secure federal support for rapid development in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.

According to the statement, Yusuf made the pledge while addressing supporters who turned out to welcome him back to the state on Saturday evening.

“I will continue to strengthen Kano State’s partnership with the Federal Government under the capable leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to attract interventions that will drive development,” the governor was quoted as saying.

Yusuf described the warm reception as both humbling and motivating, reiterating his administration’s dedication to people-oriented governance and the delivery of democratic benefits.

He stressed that his government remains focused on fast-tracking development across key sectors.

“I want to assure the people of Kano State that this administration will keep delivering dividends of democracy in all critical areas of human development,” he added.

The governor also urged party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation as preparations for future elections gather momentum.

His return followed participation in the All Progressives Congress National Convention, which drew a massive crowd of supporters who flooded the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport and major entry routes into the city.

The enthusiastic reception, marked by songs, chants, and party flags, led to heavy traffic across major roads as residents showed solidarity with the governor.

The event, organised by the Association of Local Government of Nigeria led by Saadatu Yusha’u Soja, attracted party leaders, political appointees, traders, and other stakeholders.

Due to the large turnout, it took several hours for the governor’s convoy to travel from the airport to the Government House.
