JUST IN : IRGC INTELLIGENCE CHIEF KHADEMI KILLED IN US-ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES

Iran has reported that Majid Khademi, the intelligence chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in a US‑Israeli strike on Monday morning.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump seemed to set a deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 8:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday (1:00 a.m. BST Wednesday).
In a blunt and expletive-filled warning targeting Iranian infrastructure, Trump declared, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!”

In response, Iran has threatened “far more devastating” retaliation. Our correspondent Lyse Doucet notes that “frantic, last‑minute diplomacy is intensifying,” although one insider emphasizes that a ceasefire must come first.
The US president is expected to provide an update later on the operation to rescue an American airman whose fighter jet was shot down over Iran.
Meanwhile, attacks persist across the region, including in Iran, Israel, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
The conflict has so far claimed thousands of lives, with the overwhelming majority in Iran and Lebanon.
