Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Sultana, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, offering to support the state’s tourism drive as an ambassador. The meeting took place at the governor’s country home in Adiabo, Odukpani Local Government Area, according to a statement from the state government.
Governor Otu welcomed the visit, describing its timing during the Easter period as significant and commending Sultana for taking the time to engage with her home state. He highlighted her roots in Cross River and praised her journey on the reality show as a testament to resilience and courage.

Otu noted the growing importance of the creative economy, aligning Sultana’s willingness to serve with the state’s broader vision to position Cross River as a leading destination for culture, tourism, and entertainment. “We are building a Cross River State that will lead Nigeria in the creative economy… We will be part of that engine, that catalyst, that will continue to support you to even greater heights,” he said.
Further engagements were promised to formalise areas of collaboration and involve relevant stakeholders in the initiative.
In her remarks, Sultana lauded the governor’s leadership in infrastructure development, tourism promotion, and rebranding efforts, and expressed readiness to leverage her platform to promote the state, particularly through flagship events such as Carnival Calabar.

“It is my earnest desire to leverage my platform to support your administration. I humbly offer myself as an ambassador for tourism in Cross River State to help amplify our beauty, culture, and unique experiences,” she said, pledging to contribute in any capacity the government deems appropriate.
Sultana reaffirmed her connection to Cross River and expressed optimism that strategic partnerships can strengthen the state’s position as a hub for tourism and cultural excellence.
