The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated billionaire businessman and Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, on his 69th birthday, describing him as a key driver of Nigeria’s economy.
Dangote, who was born on April 10, 1957, in Kano, was praised for his contributions to the growth of the country’s private sector through large-scale investments.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Abbas said Dangote has remained a leading figure in Nigeria’s economic development.
He particularly highlighted the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, describing it as one of the world’s largest petrochemical facilities and a stabilising force for Nigeria’s economy amid global uncertainties.
The Speaker commended Dangote’s resilience and commitment to investing in Nigeria, noting that his confidence in the country has contributed significantly to industrial growth and economic stability.
He described the industrialist as one of the nation’s most patriotic citizens, citing his role in advancing local production and reducing reliance on imports.
Abbas also offered prayers for continued strength and wisdom for Dangote to further contribute to national development.
From his early days as a commodities trader in the late 1970s to becoming Africa’s most influential industrialist, Dangote’s journey has been widely regarded as one of the continent’s most remarkable business success stories.
Beyond his business ventures, Dangote is known for his philanthropic efforts through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, which focuses on health, education, and economic empowerment across Nigeria and Africa.
His sustained investments in large-scale industrial projects have positioned him as a central figure in Nigeria’s drive for industrial self-sufficiency and economic transformation.
