Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commended aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s primaries, describing all contestants as winners regardless of the eventual outcome.

AbdulRazaq said the increasing number of aspirants seeking elective positions under the APC reflects Nigerians’ confidence in the party and in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mashood Agboola, following a meeting with House of Assembly aspirants at the APC secretariat in Ilorin.

The governor said the economic and infrastructural reforms of the Tinubu administration have strengthened the APC’s position as a credible political platform in the country.

He also attributed ongoing development in Kwara State to improved federal support, adding that the state has witnessed significant progress under his administration.

AbdulRazaq maintained that the APC remains attractive due to its internal democracy and openness to political participation.

He highlighted his administration’s achievements in education, infrastructure, and public services, while contrasting them with the conditions he said were inherited in 2019, including salary arrears, dilapidated schools, and unpaid counterpart funding for education projects.

According to him, the state has since made major progress, particularly in road construction and education, with students gaining national and international recognition for academic excellence.

Addressing the aspirants, the governor said their willingness to contest already marked them out as leaders, stressing that all of them had “won” by virtue of participating in the process.

He encouraged them to remain united and supportive of the party regardless of the outcome of the primaries, noting that political contests should not create division among members.

AbdulRazaq also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu is expected to visit Kwara State later in the year to inaugurate key projects executed by his administration.

He further listed ongoing infrastructure projects across the state, including road constructions and cultural development initiatives in several local government areas.

Speaking earlier, the Kwara APC Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, praised the governor for what he described as significant developmental achievements across all sectors of the state.

The APC in Kwara State has continued consultations ahead of its 2027 primaries, as political activities intensify across the state.
