Carlo Ancelotti will remain head coach of the Brazil national football team until 2030 after signing a contract extension with the Brazilian Football Confederation, the federation announced on Thursday.

The new deal will keep the 66-year-old Italian in charge through the 2030 FIFA World Cup, in what the federation described as a major step toward maintaining Brazil’s status among the world’s football elite.

Ancelotti, who took over the Brazilian national team last year, successfully guided the five-time world champions to qualification for the upcoming 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Reacting to the extension, the former Real Madrid, AC Milan and Chelsea manager said he remained committed to restoring Brazil to the summit of global football.

“From the very first minute, I understood what football means to this country. For the past year, we have been working to lead the Brazilian National Team back to the very top of the world stage,” Ancelotti said.

He added that he was eager for “more victories, more time, more work” with the Seleção.

CBF president Samir Xaud described the renewal as part of efforts to keep Brazil competing at the highest level internationally.

Ancelotti is expected to announce his final squad for the World Cup on May 18, ahead of Brazil’s warm-up clash against Panama national football team at the Maracana Stadium on May 31.

Brazil will camp in New Jersey during the tournament and have been drawn in Group C alongside Morocco national football team, Scotland national football team and Haiti national football team.
