Oyo South senator, Sarafadeen Alli, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Oyo State.
Alli secured 578,143 votes to defeat former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who polled 19,193 votes, along with another contender.
Adelabu, who resigned from his ministerial role to contest the governorship, alleged that the primary election was manipulated.
Speaking to journalists after voting at his ward, he claimed there were widespread irregularities in several wards.
According to him, “It is not the same in many other wards. Reports reaching me indicate gross misconduct in various areas, including different forms of infractions.
“In some wards, the election was conducted hours before the scheduled time, and figures were allegedly fabricated.”
