JUST IN: PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI APPROVES PAYMENT OF 15 YEARS ENTITLEMENT OF THE NIGERIAN AIR EX-WORKERS

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate release of N22.68 billion, being 50% of N45.3 billion total entitlements of ex-workers of the Nigerian Airways Limited in liquidation.
Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed who made this known via he twitter handle @ZShamsuna on Monday, said, the ex-workers of the Nigerian Airways in liquidation, who have not received their retirement benefits for 15 years have been through untold hardship. She said this is unfortunate and should not be allowed to continue.
The newly appointed finance minister further revealed the set up of a committee expected to ensure the implementation of the President’s directives. “to ensure these presidential directives are duly implemented in line with extant financial rules, I have constituted a Committee to be headed by the Secretary of Presidential Initiative on Continious Audit, PICA, Dr. MK Dikwa,” she said
