EDUCATION: LAGOS STATE RELEASES APPROVED 2022/2023 HARMONIZED ACADEMIC SCHOOL CALENDAR
The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Ministry of Education, has announced the approved harmonized school calendar for the 2022/2023 academic year in accordance with its mandate to provide a harmonized academic school calendar for both public and private schools in Lagos State.
The State’s schools below the tertiary level will begin classes on Monday, September 5, 2022, for the First Term of the 2022–2023 academic session, and they will finish on Friday, December 16, 2022, according the approved school calendar.
In order to ensure that students spend worthwhile instructional time in the classrooms while also holding schools responsible for the same standards, the academic calendar for the years 2022–2023 stresses standardized instructional days of learning for all the state’s schools. It is important to remember that schools are required to maintain a minimum of 180 learning days in accordance with the academic calendar.
For the delivery of a high-quality, long-lasting education in Lagos State, in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Education and Technology, all schools are urged to carefully abide by the academic calendar and the important notes, as approved.
