LINGARD SIGNS ONE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Jesse Lingard has signed a one-year contract with Nottingham Forest.
West Ham made a sizable offer to sign the former Manchester United forward, but he declined to sign with the newly promoted Premier League team. The one-year contract does not include a year-long extension option.
Since Lingard left Old Trafford last month after his contract with United expired, his representatives have been in contact with at least four potential clubs.
Despite what West Ham believed to be a fair and competitive offer to the Englishman, Lingard has turned down the chance to re-join the Irons.
David Moyes’ side were not interested in getting involved in a bidding war with other clubs and are now focusing on other targets.
Lingard reportedly becomes Forest’s highest-paid player, with his contract reportedly worth £115,000 per week with incentives.
