LG ELECTIONS: OSUN ELECTORAL COMMISSION SET TO MEET PARTIES ON FRIDAY
By Sumayyah Olapade
The Osun Independent Electoral Commission has said it would be meeting representatives of all registered political parties and deliberate on the plan to conduct local government elections in the state.
This was contained in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Thursday titled, ‘OSIEC holds parley meeting with political parties ahead of LG poll,’ signed by the Commission’s chairman, Mr. Segun Oladitan.
Oladitan expressed hope that the parties would attend the meeting at the OSIEC office in Osogbo.
“The purpose of the meeting is to exchange ideas with political parties about the upcoming Local Government Election in the state.”
“The meeting, which is scheduled to take place at the Commission’s Conference Hall along old Ikirun Road, is expected to have adequate representation from all political parties,” the statement said in part.
The OSIEC president then reaffirmed his commitment to hold a Local Council Election that would be acceptable to everyone.
