35 KADUNA RESIDENTS KIDNAPPED BY TERRORISTS REGAIN FREEDOM
35 people from the Millenium City community in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area who were abducted by bandits have been set free.
It was discovered that the community’s residents had welcomed the victims on Friday.
Further information revealed that N2.5 million per captive was paid in ransom before the 35 hostages were released.
However, it was learnt that a victim was still in the bandits’ care despite his family’s failure to satisfy their demand that they buy two motorbikes for them.
An eyewitness reports that a doctor and fifteen other hostages abducted by the bandits last month were among the victims who were freed.
Uwasu Yunusa, the commander of the community’s Civilian Joint Task Force, verified the release of the abducted victims but remained mum when asked whether a ransom had been paid.
