AKWA IBOM POLICE RESCUE THREE ABDUCTED CHILDREN, ARREST TWO SUSPECTED TRAFFICKERS

Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have rescued three abducted children and arrested two suspected child traffickers along Ekparakwa village in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement issued in Uyo on Thursday.
According to her, the command received a distress call at about 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday from a concerned individual reporting the abduction of three children in the area.
She explained that, following the report, detectives were immediately mobilised, while all strategic entry and exit routes in the locality were swiftly cordoned off in a coordinated rescue operation.
During the operation, police operatives intercepted a minibus with registration number 830 PH.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the three missing children inside, resulting in their rescue without injuries, while two suspects were arrested at the scene.
The police spokesperson said the rescued children have since been reunited with their families, while the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, commended the swift response of the operatives and praised community members for providing timely information that aided the successful rescue operation.
