Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, has expressed confidence that he will remain in charge despite his side’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Carrick said he expects to lead the Red Devils in their next fixture against Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer in the second half handed United their fourth league defeat of the season, leaving them 17th on the table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Despite the disappointing result, the 45-year-old dismissed suggestions that he could be sacked, insisting he would be in the dugout for Tuesday’s home encounter.
When asked whether he expected to remain in charge for the next game, Carrick simply responded: “Yes.”
