FOUR NYSC CORPS MEMBERS, TWO OTHERS DIE IN FATAL ADAMAWA ROAD ACCIDENT

Four members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and two others have died after being burnt in a tragic road accident involving a military gun truck and a commercial bus in Adamawa State.
According to the Adamawa State Police Command, the crash occurred on Wednesday at Narehi in Girei Local Government Area along the Girei–Song Road.
Police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje said in a statement that the accident involved a military gun truck travelling from Gombi to Yola and a commercial Hummer bus heading from Yola to Mubi.
Preliminary findings indicated that both vehicles collided head-on, causing the bus to somersault and catch fire.
All five passengers in the bus were reportedly burnt to death after the fire broke out. The police confirmed that four of the victims were NYSC corps members serving in Adamawa State.
Two of the corps members were identified as Suleiman Juliet and Usman Shuaibu, both from Kaduna State, while efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims.
One soldier attached to the gun truck also died in the crash. The remains of the victims have been deposited at the Specialist Hospital in Yola, while authorities continue efforts to identify all bodies and contact their families.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State expressed condolences to the bereaved families, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the NYSC, and all those affected by the tragedy.
