IGP DISU VOWS TO ADDRESS INFRASTRUCTURE GAPS IN POLICE BARRACKS NATIONWIDE

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has inspected 23 police barracks nationwide to evaluate the living conditions of officers and their families.
The exercise centred on residential quarters and other welfare facilities. During the visits, the IGP interacted with personnel and residents to identify infrastructure deficiencies and areas requiring urgent repairs, rehabilitation and long-term investment.
In a statement released on Sunday, Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu said the inspections were designed to provide a thorough assessment of the welfare challenges facing police personnel and to enhance the Force’s response to those needs.
Disu emphasised that decent housing and functional welfare infrastructure are vital for improving officers’ morale and operational effectiveness. He assured personnel that the identified shortcomings would be addressed, noting that those who risk their lives to protect the public deserve suitable living conditions.
