Reactions have continued to trail the massive reception received by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, during his visit to Lagos State on Thursday.

The former Kano State governor visited Katangoro and Ilepo markets in the Alimosho area, where he addressed supporters and interacted with party members.

A video circulating on social media showed a large crowd surrounding the NDC candidate, chanting, “Obi Kwankwaso.”

Reacting to the development, businessman and political commentator, Isaac Fayose, described the reception as a political volcano and predicted that President Bola Tinubu could lose the 2027 presidential election.

“NDC is shaking Lagos like a volcano. Tinubu Must Go,” Fayose wrote on his official Facebook page.

Similarly, popular X influencer, Shehu Gazali Sadiq, claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was becoming increasingly concerned about the NDC’s growing political presence.

In a post on X, Sadiq said the reception Kwankwaso received in Lagos offered a glimpse of what could happen when the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, visits the state for his campaign.

“This is Kwankwaso in Lagos today. Imagine what will happen the day Peter Obi will storm Lagos to campaign.

“Peter Obi is coming. APC in panic mode,” he wrote.

Also reacting, the South-West Coordinator of the OK Movement, Dr Adefolaseye Adebomi Adebayo, described the reception as massive and expressed excitement over the support shown to the NDC ticket.

In a post on X, she disclosed that Kwankwaso also visited the Seriki of Agege at his residence, adding that the Lagos State governorship candidate, Funsho Doherty, and other party candidates were part of his entourage.

She wrote: “Today was fast!! Fast!! Campaign. His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso paid a visit to the Seriki Agege at his Agege residence.

“The love for the OK ticket was massive.

“Those in the team included the Lagos governorship candidate Funsho Doherty; other federal candidates including myself were present.”
