NASARAWA GOVERNMENT TO COMMENCE PAYMENT OF N70,500 MINIMUM WAGE THIS DECEMBER

The governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has declared that, in spite of the state’s continuing industrial action, the state government will begin paying the new N70,500 national minimum wage this month, December 2024.
During the commissioning of the newly renovated deputy governor’s office in the state capital of Lafia, the announcement was made.
The administration’s resolve to deal with the issue of consequential adjustments resulting from the new salary structure was reiterated by Governor Sule.
He emphasized that despite the state’s restricted resources in comparison to its peers in the region, bigger percentages had been granted by past administrations.
The public was reassured by the governor that his administration was committed to enacting a just and long-lasting adjustment that put workers’ wellbeing first.
In order to reach a win-win solution, Sule also urged labor unions to end their strike and go back to work, as well as to keep negotiating with the state administration.
He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to cultivating a cordial relationship with organized labor in order to guarantee industrial peace and state advancement.
