The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, recorded a 117 per cent increase in revenue in 2025, generating ₦15.6 billion compared with ₦7.2 billion in 2024.

The Command posted its highest-ever monthly revenue in December 2025, raking in ₦3.63 billion.

In a statement issued by the Superintendent of Customs and Public Relations Officer of the Seme Area Command on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Wale Adenuga, the achievement was attributed to the effective implementation of the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative introduced by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, which has strengthened coordination and improved trade facilitation for stakeholders.

Adenuga noted that the Command also reduced checkpoints along the Lagos–Abidjan corridor to the two locations approved by the Federal Government, a move that significantly eased legitimate trade, minimised delays and contributed to the strong revenue performance.

He added that the Command sustained robust anti-smuggling operations, recording seizures in December 2025 that included 685 parcels of cannabis sativa (marijuana), 495 packs of tramadol, and 2,000 packs of Super Power sildenafil tablets (300mg), an excessively high-dosage sexual enhancement drug.

According to the statement, the successes were achieved through intelligence-driven operations, enhanced patrols, effective risk profiling, and strengthened inter-agency collaboration.
