The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has turbaned Alhaji Abdulqadir Bello-Jeli as the Sarkin Fulotin Sokoto in recognition of his contributions to Sokoto State and Nigeria.

The traditional investiture ceremony, held on Sunday, also saw 12 other prominent Nigerians conferred with various traditional titles.

Speaking at the event, the Sultan described Bello-Jeli as a hardworking and practical individual who had made notable contributions to the development of Sokoto State and the country.

A Chartered Accountant, he has worked with several organisations, including Deloitte, Adetona, Isichei & Co. and United Bank for Africa (UBA).

In his response, Bello-Jeli expressed gratitude to the Sultan for the honour, saying the recognition would motivate him to intensify his humanitarian activities in Sokoto State and beyond.
