I’ll Deport Three Million Illegal Immigrants, Trump Warns
President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday said he intends to deport or incarcerate as many as 3 million undocumented immigrants once he takes office.
“What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate,” Trump told CBS’s CBS, +1.03% Lesley Stahl during an interview on “60 Minutes” to be aired Sunday night. “But we’re getting them out of our country, they’re here illegally.”
Trump said that after tackling the criminal element and securing the borders, “we are going to make a determination” on what to do with other undocumented immigrants. “They’re terrific people but we are gonna make a determination at that,” Trump said.
